The holidays are here! We just finished up one of our favorite client installations for Christmas and we are in love with the mix of metallics used for this elaborate tree and mantle design. All it took was tons of gold, silver, and copper mercury glass, 100 yards of velvet ribbon, and thousands of tiny twinkling lights! Santa just may not want to leave after he climbs down this chimney!
Sometimes a little rough around the edge is a good thing. For this casual, outdoor Bar-B-Que at The Salt Lick, we combined a few rough elements and with scented herbs, textural succulents, native cacti, and soft candle lit lanterns to create a relaxed, country setting. Rusted recycled tin cans, votive candles wrapped in old screen door netting, weathered charcoal zinc planters, long neck beer bottles, and woodsy birch and oak stumps were all perfect materials for the this laid back Texas feast. We hope the guests enjoyed the decor as much as they enjoyed the food!

When an oh so fun bride of ours asked us to create a design for her wedding reception that was modern and clean yet full of vivid color and texture, we jumped at the opportunity to play! With a color palette of saffron, fuchsia, and amethyst, we knew that we had to color block the design elements. Since she loved texture, we chose distinct varieties of floral in each of these rich shades and kept them in single style groupings that were arranged in simple yet dramatic combinations. Vibrant sea glass, colored water, and bright floating candles all added pops of fun to the tables while still remaining clean and modern. The result was nothing short of good clean fun.

Fall is upon us and what better way to get inspired than by looking back at one of our favorite fall weddings from last year. I am in love with the rich hues and varying textures. A bit of rustic, a touch of woodsy, a hint of soft petals and romance….oh how I embrace the fall!
